She went on to earn her RN diploma from Somerset (NJ) Hospital School of Nursing, where she worked following her graduation. Monica then moved to New York City where she worked in public health for several years while completing her baccalaureate degree in nursing at New York University. After several years, she moved to Columbus, Ohio to complete a masters degree in nursing with a major in public health at Ohio state University. After retiring, Monica was a volunteer teacher for religious education classes at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Glenview IL for many years.
During her 50 years in the Chicago area, Monica loved and enjoyed her family and friends. Many celebrations and get-together were held with these friends and family over the years. She traveled to many places, both foreign and in the United States. Monica had a particularly close relationship with her mother, Anna, and they spent time with each other whenever possible, although they lived in different states.
