Louis Daniel Melnick, 91 of Evanston, passed away Thursday March 3, 2026 at his home. He was born Thursday August 2, 1934 in Chicago, the son of Michael B. Melnick and Dorothy Melnick, nee Vogel. He graduated in 1952 from Downers Grove Community High School and received his Bachelor's Degree in 1957 from North Central College in Naperville. A retired actuary, he was a life member of the Illinois State Genealogical Society, and the New England Historic Genealogical Society. He was preceded in death by his twin brother in 2023, with whom he shared a home, and by his brother Peter G. Melnick. Interment private.
