Kevin Patrick Kelly Obituary
Kevin Patrick Kelly was called to his eternal rest on Monday, September 26th 2022 in Kennesaw, Georgia. He was born to Jeanette Shemkus & Antonino Cusimano in Chicago Illinois.
Kevin loved crossword puzzles, just like his mother and was well-read, entrepreneurial, optimistic, insightful and a true fighter. Some of his favorite things in life were being with his family and friends, telling stories of past adventures, his convertible Corvette, movies, his pets and last but not least, his faith.
He was never afraid to stand out from the crowd and be different and this applied to proclaiming his faith as well, having spent much of his later life doing Gods work and helping others find salvation. Kevin talked about God often & brought Him into conversations with family and friends. He found great comfort in the Catholic Faith and wanted those around him to as well.
One who enjoyed competitive sports, Kevin was an excellent ice skater and water skier. During summer, he switched skates to roller skates and won the United States Amateur Roller Skating Association National Championship for Intra Men's Singles in 1971. In his later years, you could often see him rollerblading through the neighborhood with two Great Danes on a leash running in front of him.
Kevin is survived by his wife Monica Kelly. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Ryan, Deborah and Alexandra; his grandchildren James, Janiah, Jaquise, and Jazaylah.
Kevin is also preceded in death by siblings Lydia Kelly, Deborah Kelly, Stephen Cusimano, Betty Cusimano, Thomas Cusimano, Anthony Cusimano, remembered by siblings: Frances Cusimano Graf, Jeanette Masquelier & Steven Cusimano as well as many nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed for all of his witty insights, jokes, wise remarks, insightful wisdom, encouragement, love, big hugs, huge smiles, warmth, charisma and passion for life. His love for others despite a difficult past were and still are an inspiration for many.
Join us as we rejoice his life well lived, pay our respects and pray for his soul's successful journey to be with his Maker.
" - For his time of departure is at hand. He has competed well; finished the race, kept the faith and from now on the crown of righteousness awaits him, and not only him, but to all who have longed for His appearance"
