Jon Jones Obituary

Jon Darrell Jones, 56, passed away in his home in Evanston, IL on Tuesday March 11, 2021 from complications related to Cancer.

He was born to Jazz singer Marie Iris Taylor and James Lorenzo Jones in March of 1964 in Highland Park, Michigan. He leaves behind his Aunt- Jean Lee Taylor, his Love-Cynthia Lynn Sopata, and a host of Lifelong Friends who are by his own words, his adopted family.

Jon served our military proudly in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Reeves. He was an avid fan of Everton and Columbus Crew Soccer, a great mystery or Sci-Fi book, good loud music on a car ride, a nice bar stool with great conversation, Godzilla movies, and most of all a good laugh.

Cremation took place on St. Patrick’s Day and Jon received toasts in bars all over the globe at the exact time. The family extends personal thanks to Roland F.
