Elizabeth Cramer Obituary

Elizabeth Anne Cramer was born in Evanston, IL, in 1953 and passed away peacefully on March 28, 2020, in her home in Evanston.
After graduating from the University of Illinois, following three years at the University of Arizona, she launched a career at the College of American Pathologists beginning in Governance and ending up initiating and leading the Policy Development Division.  She was recently awarded the 2019 CAP Staff Outstanding Achievement Award; the highest honor bestowed on the staff of 600 employees.  She was well-loved and respected by pathologist members and by her many staff colleagues….a 43 year career.
Liz had many interests in her life--her church group, reading, cooking, and most of all spending time at her beloved vacation home in Galena, IL.  She placed high value on family time and gathering to play board games, complete jigsaw puzzles, and enjoying a good meal with friends and family.  She was devoted to her career and her family.  Always interested in what everyone was doing and finding the best greeting card or gift for each person.  She was loved for her sense of humor and genuine interest in others’ everyday joys and struggles.
Liz was preceded in death by her father, mother, younger brother, James and older brother Tom.  Her memory continues with her surviving older brother Wm Michael (Pamela), Susan Chaney (Mitchell), three nephews Matthew, Stephen, and Jason and niece Samantha, and great nephew Benjamin and great-niece Charlotte.
Plans are underway for a celebration of her life sometime this summer.
