Dean Paul Westmeyer Obituary

Dean P. Westmeyer, at the age 90 passed away peacefully on Monday April 20th, 2020 at his home in Evanston.
He was born in Suring, Wisconsin on Monday January 27, 1930 to the Reverend H. Paul Westmeyer and his wife Hildegarde.
He graduated from Suring High School and went on to undergraduate studies at Valparaiso and Northwestern Universities and the University of Wisconsin.
He then went on to obtain a Masters Degree from the University of Florida in Cartography.

Dean also served in the US Army in Germany following the end of World War II.
From there he went on to have a long career as a cartographer (map and globe designer) at both the Denoyer-Geppert and Rand McNally corporations.
He also was very active in his Church, St. Philip Lutheran in Chicago, IL, including being the president of the congregation for many years.

Dean had a long and loving marriage with the late Lillian E. Kirchmeier and is survived by his daughter Dianne Moriarty (spouse Joe Moriarty), his grandaughter Abigail Moriarty, and his son Mark Westmeyer (spouse Margaret Burns-Westmeyer).

He later remarried and had a good number of happy years with Dorthy Casem who also predeceased him.
