Connor Carr-Smith
August 4, 2004 – November 25, 2019
Beloved Son, Brother, Grandson, Nephew, Cousin and Friend
Connor Edward Carr-Smith passed away on November 25th, at the age of 15. Connor was born in New York, NY and lived in Larchmont, NY for his first eleven years before moving with his family to Wilmette, Illinois in 2015. Connor was a Sophomore at New Trier High School and attended Joseph Sears Middle School.
Connor will be remembered for his crazy hair, his creative mind, his warm heart and his kind and gentle soul. He loved nature, art, sculpture and building. Always one to help others, he was an active volunteer for the New Trier Special Education department and a counselor at his favorite activity: helping children create cardboard adventures and build their imaginations. Above all, Connor was most happy at home - creating projects in his workshop, playing dungeons and dragons with his friends, cooking and spending time with his family.
Connor is survived by his devoted parents, Brian and Jennifer, his sister tribe, Caitlin and Caroline, and his faithful dog, Dudley. He is also survived by his doting grandmothers: Carolyn F. Carr of Fremont, NH and Jeanne Smith of Ipswich, MA, his loving aunts and uncles, his admiring little cousins and his many caring friends.
The Carr-Smith family invites friends to gather for an open house memorial in his honor on Sunday, December 8th from 10am to 12pm, at The Art Center in Highland Park, Illinois. Friends and loved ones are also invited to share memories of Connor in his online tribute - your stories will keep him alive in spirit for all of us.
