Alice Jane Cloud

Alice Jane Cloud, nee Husak, 98 of Northbrook, passed away Tuesday February 16, 2021 at her home. She was born: Saturday June 10, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Milton Husak and Aletta Husak, nee Golling. She married Charles Cloud February 16, 1952. Younger sister of Louise Carrington, nee Husak; older sister of Ted Husak. Mother of David (Kris), Steven, and Thomas (Cary McLean). Grandmother to Julie. Alice was a woman of determination and vigor who took great joy in life and in her family. A lifelong student of Christian Science, she was a testament to her faith, a dedicated and generous supporter of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Wilmette and Winnetka. She served many years in the Christian Science Reading Rooms in Wilmette and Winnetka. She loved music and could be heard humming melodies to herself anytime she was happy and active. As a girl, she loved swimming and diving. She served the nation during World War II as a meteorologist stationed in Kentucky, Michigan and in North Dakota. Following the war she worked at Stuart-Rodgers Photography in Evanston, Illinois before marriage and the role of homemaker. Her husband, Chuck, built a thriving business, Cloud Corporation, for which Alice served many years on the board of directors as well as knowing many employees personally. Generous, kind, elegant and engaged are some of the qualities that describe Alice Cloud. A memorial gathering will be announced at a later date. Interment private.
