Longtime Evanston resident Elise Lerman passed away early morning December 7, 2018.
A memorial service will be celebrated at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 2120 Lincoln St., Evanston, 60201, on Saturday, January 12, 2019, 2:00PM.
She is survived by Jack Lerman, her beloved husband of 61 years; Douglas Pike, nephew, his wife Rosemary, and their children Stephanie and Ryan; Bonnie Pike, sister-in-law; Louis and Dianne Lerman, brother and sister-in-law; and by Phyllis Lerman, sister-in-law.
Elise was from Paris Ontario Canada. She received her B.A. from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Upon graduation, she completed three years of study at Ontario College of Art in Toronto. She moved to Chicago to study at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she pursued her passion of capturing the human figure. It was during her studies there that she met her husband Jack.
Together, they taught and pursued their love and life working and teaching art. Upon retirement, they opened a studio in Evanston, teaching many in our community the artist's craft.
It is Jack's wish that memorial gifts be given for the mission and ministry of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, their beloved church home.
